THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF HEIDEGGER CIRCLE IN ASIA (HCIA)
Venue: Department of Philosophy, National Chengchi University, Taipei
Organizers: Assoc. Prof. Wei-Ding TSAI (Department of Philosophy, National Chengchi University)
CALL FOR PAPERS
About the Conference:
The Heidegger Circle in Asia (HCIA) is an international network grounded in 2018 to facilitate intercultural dialogues about Heidegger’s philosophy among Asian scholars. It works mainly to promote deep discussions and mutual understandings between
Heidegger scholars in Asia. For this purpose, the HCIA expects to hold an international conference every year to provide a friendly platform for Asian scholars to share their latest research results and to exchange their ideas and comments. The first annual conference of HCIA was held in 2019 by National Chengchi University in Taipei. However, due to the outbreak of the global epidemic, the second annual conference hosted by Ewha Womans University in Seoul was postponed to 2022 and only could be held online. Now in view of the slowdown of the pandemic, the HCIA plans to hold its third annual conference in October 2023–mainly in the form of
physical meeting, supplemented by online meeting in special cases.
The third annual conference of HCIA titled “Another Beginning for Heideggerian Philosophizing in Post-pandemic Asia” will take place at National Chengchi University in Taipei City on October 4-6, 2023, and welcomes all contributions that (1) explore Heidegger’s thought about Asia and Asian philosophy, (2) discuss his philosophy and its reception in Asia, (3) compare his philosophy with Asian thinking, and (4) offer intercultural interpretations of his philosophy within Asia. Authors are kindly invited to submit their papers in English on any related topics mentioned above.
